Exciting news! Ed was recently nominated to the Board of the Orcas Island Community Foundation (OICF).
The goal of the Foundation is to foster philanthropy to enhance and preserve the quality of life on Orcas Island. This is done by connecting donors with vetted nonprofits that are committed to maintaining this vibrant and vital community.
OICF ranked #3 nationally for amount of gifts per capita* in 2018. Funds invested in OICF distribute more than $2 million annually to local programs. OICF also manages funds for both nonprofits and donors. Invested assets exceeded $15 million in 2019.
We the Future showcases the stories of ten young leaders working to build an equitable and inclusive world through their respective social change movements. Inspired by Amplifier’s We the Future education campaign and co-curated with the Gates Foundation Discovery Center’s Youth Ambassador Program, the exhibit celebrates youth leadership and action across a range of social justice issues and invites audiences of all ages to imagine and become the change they want to see in the world.
The exhibition runs until May 23, 2020 and is always free.
We recently completed design of a new site for Urban Renaissance Group. As a commercial real estate investor, developer and property manager, they help spark change in these transforming neighborhoods through placemaking–reinventing land and buildings to better serve people and the community.
4Culture used Earth Day to showcase the new Poetry on Buses: Your Body of Water display at the Northgate Transit Center. It highlights a number of poems in a variety of languages along with supporting artwork.
